Scattered all throughout Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, we find an overlooked and unreached group of people - the physically disabled.
In Burkina Faso rare disease related to malnutrition has created a condition that will cause you to see men, women, and children to go lame with little or no advance warning. You will find them crawling on the ground to try and get from place to place. It is a tragic phenomenon, and there are thousands of them.
Our desire is to help them get jobs and get bikes so that they can move independently with a sense of empowerment and dignity.
Here's how you can help us:
Our desire is to help them get jobs, get bikes they can get around on, to feel good about themselves, and ultimately through all this share the love of Jesus with them.
Here is the difference you can make:
PROVIDE HAND PEDALED BIKES
You can purchase three wheeled, hand pedaled handicap bike to be given to someone in need for $400. This will allow one person to feel like a person as they look you in the eye and they can now go anywhere they need to go. We will provide a picture of the person who benefitted from your gift.
PROVIDE AND DEVELOP A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FOR THE PHYSICALLY DISABLED TO LIVE, WORK, AND EAT
Over the last couple years John Arnold of Engage Burkina has led the effort to create sustainable solutions for a large number of physically disabled people through a local association. Chickens, sheep, and pigs are now being raised and sold to provide employment and food for the hungry. A water tower was installed thanks to the generosity of those who give to Engage Burkina. More plans are in the works including to create an accessible restaurant run by and for the people of this local community.
YOU CAN CHANGE A LIFE TODAY!
Engage with us in impacting the physically disabled people of Burkina Faso.
